Gordon Ramsay? Hell Yes! The famed Bread Street Kitchen from London can be found tucked away in Hong Kong’s Lan Kwai Fong area. With a rustic meets modern style, BSK serves some great British fare, with a fair number of vegetarian sides, if not mains.
Our favorite dish from the night was definitely the Flat bread with caramelized onions and Taleggio cheese, but obviously without the cured pigs cheeks. The mix of flavor between the sharp cheese and sweet onion, creates a perfect balance. We ordered a bunch of sides as well, the carrots were a bit to sweet for our liking, and the mushrooms were undercooked and poorly seasoned. But the mashed potato was rich and creamy. Even the mac and cheese was really good, but it’s hard for mac and cheese to be bad.
We had Baked spinach, ricotta and artichoke cannelloni as our main, it was really good and well flavored, albeit a bit too much cheese. But we really did enjoy this dish. The cherry on the cake for this meal was good ol’ Sticky Toffee Pudding. Perfectly sweet with a nice bold toffee flavor, we were left licking the plate for more.
I would go back for the flatbread and pudding! Mr. Ramsay, please add some more veggie food to your menu.
