Another great spot for a crazy day of shopping. Located on the 3rd floor of the Landmark mall, Ciak is a nice pit stop  to take, before you resume shopping. Ciak translates to ‘action’ (like on a movie set), and the cafe/restaurant has Italian cinema references littered through the decor.
This is a venture by Michelin Star winner Chef Bombana. The walls double up as shelves, inviting guests to buy boxes of house made pasta boxes and other Italian produce. The restaurant has open kitchens, so you can always see your pizza being prepared, and above the kitchen, they have cute sayings, giving the whole restaurant a friendly feel.
Unfortunately, I did not have a meal there, but I did dig into the desserts. We ordered, the staple Italian dessert, Tiramisu and the solution to all summers problems, Lemon tart. The Tiramisu came with a hazelnut ice cream. It was perfect, nothing unexpected, light, creamy, sumptuous, and a nice coffee flavour to bring it all together. The hazelnut icecream also went perfectly well with the Tiramisu.
The Lemon tart, that is where the surprises were. It was the most non-traditional lemon tart I have ever seen, it wasn’t really even a tart, but it was amazing! It was a lemon jelly like frosting on a cracker like tart, with beautiful light chocolate flakes and a perfect vanilla bean ice cream. It tasted phenomenal! All the flavors, just explode in your mouth, the tangy lemon, crunchy chocolate flakes, crispy tart crackers, and the cool vanilla bean ice cream… fantastic! I would go back to Ciak, just for this!
