A park? A pool? A beach ? looking for all or any of the above? head to the Potato Head Beach Club in Seminyak. A great place to watch the sun go down and enjoy some nomnoms with a drink in the Indonesian sun. Make sure you reach early or have a reservation, because it is almost impossible to get a place by the beach at this popular joint. A Coachella meets sandy beach vibe, Potato Head is a must visit in Bali for all.
The food menu has a number of comfort food items with a twist, that we automatically gravitated towards. Who wants anything apart from comfort food while lounging in the grass? All the food arrived on wicker trays and wooden boards, enhancing the picnic on a beach vibe. We had the Thyme roasted mushroom pizza, truffle mascarpone, roasted onion, burrata without the duck egg, that was a standard good pizza, with great toppings. We couldn’t taste the truffle as much as we would have liked to, but the pizza was still really good and yummy. We even had the Grilled cheese, lemon basil mustard, rosella and chili jam, that was really delicious and quite different from a standard grilled cheese. The lemon basil mustard and chili jam gave the sandwich a nudge in the right direction. Absolutely delicious1 The rustic fries were also really great, there were potato and zucchini fries in the mix, which made it quite interesting.
Lastly we had the Locally made burrata, hierloom tomatoes, basil, extra virgin olive oil – that was unfortunately a massive disappointment as the cheese had gone sour. The hostess very happily discounted that item for us as soon as we told her about it. We didn’t make it to the desserts unfortunately because we were so full from all the food and drink, but I will definitely go back here and sample it on my next trip!
Potato head locally sources all it’s ingredients, which is what makes the food so good! Simple food, pushed to tantalize your palette in a unique manner. Making the experience of being at the beach club absolutely fantastic. Great music, wonderful cocktails, delicious food and a Balinese sunset, who can complain?
