Sisterfields – Bali, Indonesia

Cafe, breakfast, pancakes, healthy food, juice, home grown foods? they have it all. A very cute, but pretty big, cafe in Seminyak, Sisterfields is a great place to make a stop while shopping or just walking around. It even has an outdoor section, so you can continue your people watching if you so desire. A beautifully designed space, with private and communal tables, Sisterfields is like something you would find on a Californian beach side, but it is in the middle of Bali!

The menu is extensive and filled with all the great super foods – avocados, berries, coconut water, muesli and more. We couldn’t even decide what we should get, but we eventually settles on the ‘Smashed Avocado’, the Falafel and Gnocchi in tomato sauce. All the food was wonderfully fresh, and so beautiful to look at. The Smashed Avocado was my favorite, delicious creamy avocado on a hot day with delicious, salty feta on a beautiful home made bread!  The gnocchi was a bit dry for my liking, and my brother loved the Falafel dish. It came with a really delicious, crunchy salad of carrots, cucumber and lettuce. The Tahini dressing that was served with the falafel balls was also really good.

We even got a smoothie, coconut water and an iced coffee to go with is. While my coconut water was like any good coconut water, the smoothie was not so good, kind of sour and not a very nice drink. We are all for sugar free drinks, but if the fruit is sour- best not put it into the smoothie.

The cherry on the cake for this meal were the pancakes- light, fluffy and so delicious. We ended up having 3 plates of these, and each plate had 3 pancakes! That’s 9 pancakes for 3 people, but I have no regrets. Who can say no to pancakes with berry compote, vanilla bean ice cream and maple syrup – that’s heaven on a plate. Do not miss this!
